In early 2003 the Board of Directors of the Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA) approved the assumption of the Processed Limestone Association (PLA) into OAIMA. The PLA was one of the first aggregate industry associations in Ohio, having been incorporated in 1915, whose goal was the promotion of increased use of processed agricultural limestone on Ohio’s farms. The members of the former PLA then constituted the nucleus of OAIMA's newly created Aglime and Specialty Uses Committee.
